Bunny Cherry with Rana and Naga Chaitanya

------------
It was a Tollywood party allright, and the filmi folks were there in large numbers. After all, it was Rana who threw a bash and his friends and well wishers from the industry were present to celebrate with him on Wednesday night. From Ravi Teja and Venkatesh to the young brigade led by Ram Charan, Allu Arjun and Naga Chaitanya, the list was star-studded. The ladies were there as well, dressed to kill. Sindhura Gadde’s white outfit gets the thumbs up but her silver shoes were a complete let down. Richa’s purple number was good but she failed to score in the footwear department. Nag Chaitanya kept it simple in trousers and shirt while Allu Arjun and Ram Charan went casual, ditto RaNa. Now a word on Venkatesh. Those paint splattered jeans, shirt over the tee and bandana would have looked tacky on someone else, but Venkatesh manages to pull off the look! With Sachin Tendulkar scoring 200 ODI runs, T-Town had another reason to party. Now, that truly was double dhamaka.

(M)Allu Arjun rocks ~ Times of India Article

********

Telugu star Allu Arjun, a rank outsider to Malayalam cinema, has taken Kerala by storm with the release of the dubbed version of his Arya 2.

The film, which released in 65 screens last Friday, has grossed a whopping Rs 67 lakhs in three days! Says a leading exhibitor in Kerala, “The film has taken an M & M (Mammootty & Mohanlal) kind of opening and is running to packed houses even in smaller centres. To be frank, our young heroes never enjoy this kind of an opening!”

With the success of the film, Allu Arjun — popularly known as Bunny — has become a youth icon in Kerala. In fact, a market survey states that he is way ahead, in terms of popularity, than other young Malayali actors like Prithviraj and Jayasuriya. The stylish star’s earlier Telugu films like Arya, Happy, Desamuduru and Parugu have all been dubbed into Malayalam and turned out to be huge hits. It was his films that started the trend of Telugu mass commercial films being dubbed into Malayalam.

The rights of Arya 2, which were purchased for Rs 1.05 crore, is expected to take a distributor’s share close to Rs 2 crore in Kerala. Allu’s next release Varudu, in which Tamil actor Arya plays villain, is reported to have been sold for Rs 1.5 crore! Meanwhile, Tamil actor Ajith’s Aasal, which also released worldwide last Friday, could not release in the Malabar and Travancore areas, as theatres there preferred to screen Arya 2 instead. Says Ravi, the distributor of Arya 2, who also regularly distributes Tamil films, “Today, among other language actors, Allu Arjun comes second only to Ilaiyathalapathi Vijay in terms of popularity, in Kerala.”

Recently, Bunny was in Thiruvananthapuram to participate in a television channel’s award ceremony. He was mobbed by his fans who lovingly call him ‘Mallu Arjun’. Today, Allu has as many hoardings as any other big Malayalam star.

So, what is it about Bunny that has made him such a rage among youngsters? Says Ravi, “He dances like a dream and all his movies have a romantic touch. Also, he has a Malayali look that gets the girls swooning. His core strength lies in his fan following among the youth, which identifies with him. No other young actor has managed to do this till date.”

Allu, who now has several fan clubs, is planning to tour the state and interact with his fans. His forthcoming movie Varudu, currently in production, was shot in Kochi and Palakkad. M & M will have to rethink their strategies on how to cope with the threat that’s being posed by ‘Mallu’ Arjun, who has been crowned by trade pundits as the new ‘Prince of the Kerala box office’.

Arya 2 malayalam has grossed 67 lakhs in kerala

*********************************
Allu Arjun’s Arya 2 has taken a super opening in Kerala. The film released in 65 screens on Friday (Feb 5), and has grossed Rs 67 lakhs in three days, which by any yardstick is fantastic!

The film has taken an M & M kind of opening in the state and is running to packed houses even in smaller stations like Perinthalmanna, Tanur in Malappuram district. Allu Arjun popularly known as Bunny is attracting basically teenagers and young children to the theatres. He has become a craze among the college girls due to his romantic image accompanied by some real fast numbers.

Says Divya Pictures Ravi, the distributor of the film: “Allu Arjun is turning out to be a phenomenon in Kerala. Arya 2 has taken the best opening of 2010 in Kerala especially in Malabar area. The film is sure going to be a super hit.”

Remember Tamil superstar Ajith's new film Asal which released last Friday worldwide could only release in Cochin area of Kerala. In Malabar and Travancore areas which form 75 percent of the box-office Allu Arjun's Arya-2 was preferred by theatres over Ajith's Asal!

“Allu Arjun, after Arya 2 has the same kind of opening a Vijay film has in Kerala” says Rasheed Kottapuram a theatre manager in Malappuram area.

In Kozhikode Apsara with a seating capacity of 1260, the film is going full, while in Thiruvananthapuram SL complex and Ernakulam Kavitha the weekend collections were around 95 percent, which a straight Malayalam film is finding it difficult to get these days!

Geetha Arts Acquires 'Leader' Rights in AP

Geetha-Arts-Logo
The mega banner ‘Geeta arts’ seems to be going high these days. Geeta Arts that has bagged the several big budget films rights has now bought the rights of Daggubati Rana’s ‘Leader’ film. The banner has earlier acquired Avatar which is a biggest hit, Pawan Kalyan’s ‘Komaram Puli’ and Mahesh-Trivikram’s latest film.

According to sources, Geetha Arts has made this deal with AVM Productions and Suresh Productions for an undisclosed amount. If sources are to be believed, the mega banner has asked the producers of the film, AVM productions to postpone the film’s release so that the film would be promoted highly and will be able to release in best theatres in the state. Taking all these issues into consideration, the final date of its release will be informed soon.

ARYA 2 RECORDS BREAKING IN KERALA

Aarya2 1st in Initial Collection ( Asianet ) in Media

This is another happy news from Kerala media Asianet... in a film review program on Asianet News, named Silver Screen claimed that Aarya 2 breaked the initial collection records of the other movies released in 2010.

This is for the first time a dubbed film is breaking the records and competing with the malayalam. It was supposed to be "Happy Husbands" movie.... as the first grosser of this year, which now getting replaced by Aarya 2. Now the talk of the media is that the collection of the family entertainer Happy Husbands records will be beaten by A2 in the coming days by 3 times of Happy Husbands got.

Another funny fact about the A2 success is that many of the theater owners were not willing to show A2 since Mammooty's movie was also releasing the same date and also A2's releasing too postponed due to the release of Drona[Mammooty's] and also descent collection they earned from Happy Husbands.... and also due to the release of Asal.

Now Asal has been replaced by A2 in many theaters of North part of Kerala.

A2 is now competing with Mammooty's Yugapurushan, Dileep's Body Gaurd, Drona, and Happy Husbands.....

Enjoy fans... its our success.... n the great Kerala Prince MAllu Arjun... the third "M" factor of Kerala

50 Feet Allu Arjun Flex Torn By Ajith Fans

Stylish Star Allu Arjun's 50 feet flex which was supposed to be the first 50 feet flex in Kerala for actor has been torn down by the Ajith fans in Trivandrum. This clash was happened to the simoultaneous release of Aarya 2 and Ajith's movie "Asal". The fans strength for Ajith in Trivandrum was more than that Allu Arjun fans had, 250 flexes were introduced by the Ajith fans and due to the lack of space to fix up there flexes in theater compound, they torn down the 50 feet iconic flex of Bunny.

There was also a small clash happened between the Allu fans and Ajith fans... Some of the members of the Allu fans were back with some injuries, which is not that much serious...
Since our fans were mainly students and kids, we stayed with patience and in the way of peace.
The violence broken out was also covered by the local news channels.
