To ensure that tourists, particularly women, feel safe in the country, Minister of State for Tourism K. Chiranjeevi has asked the States and Union territories to set up a special force such as tourist police. The Minister on Thursday suggested that the plan could be executed by borrowing some companies from the police department or hiring ex-servicemen or home guards.
